They're knit up using recycled cotton from yarn-spinning factories, selected for the softest and most airy fibers before being spun into fabric. The finished tee is low-tension and extremely comfortable, breathable and slightly-heathered, with a rinse to handle any initial shrinkage. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFeaturing a thick ribbed collar, it's got a modern fit, not too long or short through the body, with a very true chest and shoulders. The ribbed collar and sleeve cuffs are made from Foxfibre®, an organically grown cotton that is naturally brown and requires no dye to achieve its color. Grown here in the USA before being woven into yarn and then knit up in Japan, it's an extremely unique cotton that will age beautifully over time, developing a subtle patina with wear.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWeighing in at a comfortable 185gsm \/ 5.5oz, lightweight and perfect for the summer, they're made on vintage Japanese Tsuriami (loopwheel) machines. These machines produce fabric very slowly, humming along at just 1 meter per hour and producing about one half roll of fabric in a day.\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eBy comparison, a modern knitting machine can blast out about five full rolls in the same amount of time, operating at roughly 10 times the speed of a loopwheeler.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fabrics created are anything but equal. The \"slow and steady\" nature of loopwheel machines comes from the gravity-fed nature of the knit — with minimal tension applied, the finished product is light, airy, and remarkably soft from the moment its knit.
