Description
The BSC (Brass Shoe Co., AKA Clinch) Uniform line is their apparel line, designed in house and then produced in Japan by Old Joe Brand (for Clinch). The "Uniform" designation is taken quite seriously, opting for matching sets of tops and bottoms using the same fabric, or simple knitwear base-layers — their standards and inspiration being taken from vintage and antique workwear, particularly post-industrialization, when a great many jobs across numerous sectors involved specific apparel.
Clinch themselves love to carry that tradition forward, with Minoru almost always head-to-toe in BSC Uniform styles, cutting, clicking, and sewing up boots as well as building a beautiful and authentic patina across his entire working wardrobe. While you don't have to go that far, these garments aren't meant to be babied, and will not only hold up to heavier wear, but will also continue to improve over time, breaking in to the shape of the wearer's body and developing unique fading, stains, and creases from your day-to-day life.
The Light Moleskin French Work Pants are a fantastic tailored work trouser with a comfortable high rise fit, straight wide legs, and a relaxed pleated top block. They cut a very flattering profile, elongating the legs and draping handsomely thanks to the room throughout. They're also understated enough to easily wear with a wide variety of other outfits, and don't need to be styled or paired with the matching jacket every time (or at all, really).
They're made from a medium-lightweight cotton moleskin fabric, sewn up with the "reverse" nap side out and the smooth face on the inside of the pants, giving the outside a more noticeably soft and textured hand. It's a fabric that's substantial without being stiff or heavy, great for layering and comfortable in a wide range of different temperatures, it's a fantastic everyday material, and will only get better with time as the fabric breaks in, relaxing into the wearer's shape and fading beautifully from sunlight and washing.
