Description

Based on a pair of trousers from around 1900, Black Sign have taken the design and updated it a bit, mostly adjusting the sizing for a more agreeable (and comfortable) fit, the style itself predates standardized work pants, instead serving as both workwear and everyday clothing in its time originally. Nowadays, these are a more classic dress trouser silhouette, with a high rise and straight legs, as well as a buckle-back and suspender buttons around the waist. They can be styled more formally with ease, but also work surprisingly well as casual pants for everyday wear, which was very much Black Sign's intention.

They're made from a textured cotton/linen blend fabric, finished in Okayama, Japan (Kojima, specifically), it's designed to replicate the look and feel of antique hand-dyed textiles. It's a really beautiful fabric, especially up close, with a ton of subtle character and uneven texture across its face, as well as a soft and comfortable hand, and easy drape. Inside, it's trimmed and partially lined with a lightweight 100% cotton chambray, making these even more of a pleasure to wear.
